Read this blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.
While reading this blog post, The teacher writes "I care about you more than you may care about yourself. And I care not just about your grades or your test scores, but about you as a person. And, because I care, I need to be honest with you." Looking back through all four years of high school, I have never really had a teacher like this, that actually said they cared for me as a person. If I had a teacher like this I feel like I would like school a little more. I am not just saying this to just say it. I am saying it because some people in school don't have friends or they don't have anyone to talk to. If a teacher actually told me or any other person that they actually truly cared for them as a person, I think there would be a lot less "quitting" and "skipping" among students.
I think the author tries to say that you yourself is the "main event" and you have to keep trying, pick yourself up, and work through it, because no one is going to do it for you. You choose the life you live.

Blog Post:
Brycen Gunn and Maggie Carter are my group members. For our stop-motion animation video we have decided to use the song "Perfect Two" by Auburn. We will be using a notebook with blank pages and cartoon pictures from the internet that will be sited at the end of the video. Our plan is take all the pictures today and start making the video Friday. We are using verse one, the chorus, and verse two. I was in charge of finding pictures to go with verse one, Brycen found pictures for the chorus, and Maggie found pictures for the 2nd verse. We printed all of the pictures in color and cut them. We will all be in charge of taking pictures so we all deserve the same credit. Maggie will be gone Friday, but Brycen and I will make sure things get done. I'm hoping our video will be as good as our video idea, we will see Friday!

GIANT blog post of the day: Answer the following questions thoroughly on your blog.

1. What was your stop motion animation about? Why did you choose your video to be about this? Was it because it was easy, because it would be fun, or it would be challenging? Explain your reasoning behind your project (and be honest). My stop-motion is a message; peace, love, happiness. It has the peace, heart, and smiley face symbol. I used many different colors to make it more fun and I tried to grab the listeners attention by the moving crayons. I choose this to be my video because I like to draw and I wanted to do something with the saying: peace, love, happiness. For the most part, this video was really easy to make. The only thing I thought was challenging, was moving and using the right angle to take the picture of the crayon. My reasoning behind this project, was to share and make a video to show that everyone should be happy, be loving, and show peace.

2. If you could rate your stop motion on a 1-10 scale. 1 being low effort and no very good and 10 being out of this world/mind-blowing, how would you rate your project? Explain why. I would rate my project a 7 because it was good but it was not over the top. I don't think it deserves a 10 because I could have spent a little more time working on it and making sure while taking the pictures the angles were right. But I also don't think it deserves a 1 because I colored and did all the art work myself. I think I did an okay job with this project but I could have done a little better.

3. In hindsight, what would you do differently the second time around? Better lighting? Time management? Explain yourself. First, if I was to do this project all over again, I would defiantly think about what the theme of it would be. I was not always going to do this theme, I changed it last minute. I wish I would have stuck to my original idea. Which was my sisters morning routine, it probably would have been more interesting.

4. Explain what makes your stop motion animation unique. How do you believe you thought "outside of the box" on this project? I think my stop- motion is unique because I did all of the artwork on my own an I think it was jut colorful and bright.

5. What grade do you feel you deserve on this project? Explain your reasoning. I think I deserve a B because I did do most of this project on my own and I tried making my project an attention grabber because it was cute and colorful.

Blog Post of the Day:
3 day weekend... how was it? Give me a good story or something funny that happened this weekend. Go.

This weekend was extra exciting because Prom was Saturday. On Saturday, in the morning, I woke up kinda late and I was suppose to shower and have my dress and clothes ready to go to my friend Brittany's. We both had a hair, nail, and makeup appointment at 1:00 p.m. After that was all done, we had to go get her dress from her family friend who tailored it. We were actually running extremely late; right when we got to her house our dates were pretty much there. Both of us hurried to put our dresses on, our dates were waiting for us at the door. We took pictures just Brittany, me, and our dates, we were actually late to our group pictures with our friends and everyone was done taking pictures by the time we got there. After that we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill, I had bow tie noodles with Alfredo sauce because it didn't sound messy. I didn't want to get anything on my dress, or get anything on my face eating something like spaghetti noodles with tomato sauce. When we all finished eating, we went to the dance because we had nothing else better to do. We got there and no one was there so we walked back to the car and sat there till more people came. His truck, Kane, my date drove his old truck and it was country cute. Finally, more people were showing up so we went in again. There were a lot more people now, the music was going, it wasn't very good music but we still had a good time for the short time we were there. We were ready to leave the dance and go have more fun, I am not going to g in details there, but I had a great three day weekend. Defiantly one to remember!

Tell me ALL about what your idea is for your stop-motion animation. I need detail. Who is going to help you take photos? What props do you need? Where do you plan on shooting? EXPLAIN everything.

For my stop- motion video, I would like to make my video on my sisters morning routine. The video will start with her waking up to her alarm, then she will brush her teeth, brush, blow dry, and straighten her hair. Next, she will pick out her outfit, put her back pack on, go down stairs, eat breakfast, and the end will be her walking out to the car for school waving to the camera. I will be shooting my video at home and my sister will be helping me. Besides all the props at home, the only thing I might need is a tripod thing you have here. I will not be doing any of the shooting at school but I will make the video at school. When I was looking at ideas for stop- motion, I realized that this project is not going to be easy. But I am excited to see what I can do with a camera.

Blog Post of the Day:
My family cam into town from Indiana on Friday. I didn't come home till Saturday morning, so I saw them then. My Uncle Tom, Aunt Pamela, and two cousins; Tommy and Jacob. On Saturday, my sisters and I, went to Firehouse subs for lunch. We talked about how we have all been. It was nice to visit with them. After, we went shopping and me and my sister took my moms car so my sister could get her nails done. When we came outside, I realized I left the keys in the car.. Lets just say my mom was really mad and we argued the rest of the night. We eventually got the keys. The next day was Easter. I woke up and ate a delicious breakfast made by my mom. My uncle Tom made fruit salad, it was very tasty. After we ate, we went to church, then came home and hid the eggs for the Easter egg Hunt. Me and my sister had to hide 49, they couldn't find one of them and we didn't remember where the last one was either. We had a nice dinner, by the end of the night everyone was happy and ready to go lay in their bed.

What do you love most about this time of year? Explain why you love it.

I absolutely love this time of year for many different reasons. The first reason is because its warm and warm weather is my favorite type of weather because its not cold. I can go take a nice cruise with the windows down and the music blaring. The second reason is because I can go to Tads and enjoy a delicious icee. The last reason why I love this time of year is because summer is close and school is close to an end. But its not just ending and then I'm coming back next year, I'm graduating, and I could not be happier. After school ends I get to go to my favorite place, my grandparents house in Michigan. I get to go to the lake and go four-wheeling. I CANT WAIT.

Did you complete the photo scavenger hunt? What kind of fun pictures were you able to capture? Did you do all your photos at school or did you do some at home over the weekend? Share one of your favorites.I finished the photo scavenger hunt. All of the pictures I took were at school because I didn't have time to work on it over the weekend. They are all different, just probably not as interesting as other peoples if they took theirs over the weekend. My favorite one that I took was the one of Maggie's hands folded on her side. I think this one is my favorite because I can probably edit it to be really cool.

What do you know about photography and/or photo editing? Do you take photos? How do you take photos? Do you edit photos before posting them on social media? How do you edit them? Explain any background or knowledge you have about photography and photo editing. Do you like it? Do you have any interest?

Photography is used by many people in many different ways. I use photography daily. I may not use a high- tech camera but I use my phone to take pictures of a variety of different things. Me and my friends, scenery, snap chats, family, and etc. These are few of many of the things I personally take pictures of. When I post pictures on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or etc. I really only edit them if they need to be edited. If I edit pictures I usually crop it, change the lighting, and sometimes I put a filter on the image. I love photography, I wish I would have taken a photo class but I didn't so I try to take pictures and be artsy with the knowledge I know already. I would like to learn how to properly edit pictures to make them look good and not edited.

Welcome back! Go ahead. Tell me all about your Spring Break. Include photos!

During Spring Break, I did a variety of things. I didn't go to a beach or to Mexico but I still had a good time. For majority of the time, I hung out with my sister, my mom let us use her car a couple days during the week, which being able to drive a car is nice. I hung out with some friends and then on Thursday, I went to The Lake of the Ozarks with a friend that goes here. We stayed at her mom and step dad house. We went mudding, fishing, snagging-basically fishing, your fishing hook is on the bottom of the lake because that is where the spoonbill are. Spring break 2015 is defiantly one to remember.

What are you doing for Spring Break?
For spring break I am going to stay home and just hang out with my friends that stayed here and my sisters. I went on my senior trip last week and I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. I am hoping to catch up on school and I would like to get into a good book. But its also my senior spring break so I would like to do something fun, which I'm sure I will.

Blog Post of the Day:
Tell me about your weekend.
My weekend was pretty boring. Friday, I hung out with some friends and we drove around and listened to music. That was probably the only fun thing I did over the weekend. Saturday I worked and then came home and attempted to work on my senior speech. TO ALL UNDERCLASSMEN: TAKE CONTEMP. IT WILL BE THE BEST DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE! Sunday, I went to work and after that I came home to work on my senior speech, again... I got off work at 9 p.m. I had to come home and try to write and memorize it. I hate talking in front of people, especially people I know. But to the juniors becoming seniors next year: if you take ELA 12 next year and have to write your own senior speech, take time to think about what you want to write about, know what you are talking about, and be you. Unfortunately, I didn't take the senior speech seriously, but you can or you can take the easy way out and take contemp. That was my weekend, stressing over the senior speech.

Blog Post of the Day:
If you were the Principal for a week at BVHS, what would that look like? What changes would you make? Why?
If I was the principal at BVHS for a week I would change multiple things. These things include: the dress code, some of the rules regarding going to any sport events, and less homework. For the dress code I think if kids were able to wear what they wanted they would hate school a little less. When I say they can wear whatever they want I mean they have to be wearing clothes. Some of the girls wear shirts that show their back and that's the kind of thing I wouldn't care about because it really is not harming anyone.I think the administrators take the dress code to far and some of the clothes people wear are how students express themselves, and I don't think that should be taken away from anyone. There are a lot of rules when we go to sports events for school. A lot of the times when kids cheer, they get yelled at for yelling something inappropriate. But I think the administers take it way to far sometimes. The last thing I would change is having less homework. We as teenagers deal with a lot. Some may not but a lot of us have a job, a lot of us have to write papers on papers, and I guess some of us just don't like homework. But having less homework would be beneficial for most students because instead of spending time on homework, we can spend time on actually learning the material being taught. I think being principle for a week would be pretty cool but also very stressful because high school is FULL of bratty teenagers.

Tell me about your weekend. Give me a story, something funny that happened, an experiencing you had, the way you felt, etc. Include photos!

My weekend was actually a long one, I missed the whole week of school because I went on a cruise with my friend and her family for our senior trip. My friends mom couldn't get one during my Spring Break so we went a couple weeks earlier. The cruise was through Carnival and we stopped at four places: The Bahamas, St. Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk. Holy moley, the islands were gorgeous! On the cruise boat there was plenty to do. There was a huge pool and we always tried to get out there as earlier as we could so we wouldn't miss the sun. We went to dinner every night and we had the same waiters all week so they knew our names, they knew what we wanted to drink; they knew everything. Our waiters were from all over the country and they all had their own uniqueness to them. In the evening after dinner we would go to a club for people 18 years and up. We had a good time for the most part other than the DJ playing the same songs over and over again. We went to a couple comedy shows they had which were hilarious. My favorite thing about being on the cruise boat was the unlimited ice cream cones.. We had at least three a day. In the Bahamas, me and Kierstens family swam with dolphins and sting-rays, that was defiantly the coolest thing I've ever done. The water was soooo gorgeous! I have always wanted to see clear blue water and I was finally able too.In San Juan we went to the beach, the wind was crazy and blew sand everywhere. The waves were not too big but a good size to have a good time.
I would love to go on another cruise sometime because WOW, I had the best time of my life!

Blog Post of the Day:
School is an important part of our life. A lot of us hate school, or we hate the idea of it. Yes, I do think school is important, I don't like it but it is important to our life because it makes us into the person we want to be. I have been going to school since kindergarten, and I am a senior now. I had to learn new things to get to where I am now. In high school, you can pick the classes you take and I think the perfect set of classes would be all the basics and some art classes because I think art is a beautiful thing. I would also like to take a class that teaches me how to change a flat tire, or how to protect myself if I was in danger. Those kinds of things seem more important than a lot of the stuff I learn in school right now. I really don't think my study habits would change because I don't study that often. During class, I would make sure I got all my work done that was needed to be done and work efficiently. My classes right now are boring and if I could make some changes it would be a lot different. I would take classes I am actually interested in. Advice for freshmen: choose you classes wisely!:)

Tell me what you believe this cartoon is trying to say. Do you agree or disagree with this idea? Try and look at this from two different perspectives. What is your perspective? What would be an adult/teacher's perspective?
(Definition of perspective: a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.)
This picture makes me think people in China study math, the people in India study science, and the people in the U.S. just listen to music and do not study anything at all. I disagree with this picture because there are a lot of people generally, that have really good study habits, some of us do not and it really just depends what kind of a student you are. From another perspective, this picture could also make someone think China is the first place that studies math, that goes for India too. It shows that the U.S. doesn't do anything and we just sit around and listen to music. If a teacher looked at this, they may have a lot of different thoughts about it, but they probably think something similar to what I think.

Think about the quote above. What does this mean to you? How could this apply to your life? How could this apply to your school work? I would love to give you less work in class if it meant you were going to focus harder on the work. Do you think you would get more out of it? Would that work for you? Why or why not?

I think this quote means if I put effort towards something and focus really hard on it, I could do less to achieve it. If I applied this to my life, it would be extremely helpful. If I didn't have a job or worked less hours of my job, I could do better in school and focus on homework, and tests that can make my grades better. If I didn't have to do so much homework and study for tests, I could work more and make more money to save for college. If we had to "do less and focus more" in this class, I think it would be beneficial for all of us because we could easily focus really hard in this class on the main subject being taught, without having extra work to do. I think it would defiantly work for me, because I could focus on other classes that have harder homework that's important for my grades and for me to graduate.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"? EXPLAIN.

Email is a way of communicating to other people, it's fast and easy. If we didn't have email we would still be writing letters and letters can take up to 5 days to be delivered. If a person had to get a hold of someone right away, one of their options could be email. Me, a typical high school student uses email, I use it for many different reasons such as: to send documents, asking questions to a teacher, setting up other social media accounts that require your email, and sometimes I communicate with family. When writing an email, it is important to use email etiquette. Email etiquette is making sure you are using correct punctuation, capitalization, correct grammar, and salutations. I personally, do not think it matters who you are writing to, to use email etiquette, I think it should be used all the time so you sound professional and know what you are talking about.

Tell me about those perspectives.

As many people know marijuana is legal in 23 states. Some can only use medical. Majority of Americans are for legalization of marijuana. Fact: Medical use of marijuana has been demonstrated to ease symptoms from severe medical conditions, including muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis, nausea from cancer chemotherapy, poor appetite and weight loss caused by chronic illness such as HIV, as well as nerve pain and seizure disorders. Fact:  “Marijuana has been illegal because too many people think it is too dangerous to allow adults to use, when in fact it is less harmful than alcohol.” If marijuana is legal in some states, and it's not as harmful as alcohol, Why can't it be legal?

Marijuana Legalization

Marijuana legalization is a big issue in the U.S., I know that it is legal in only a few states, and some of them, medical can only be used. I know marijuana is used illegally by a lot of people and those people wish to have it legalized.

I don't know a lot about this issue and I would like to know more. I want to know when people started using it, why it's good/ bad, the affect it has on people, all the ways it is used, the pros and cons and any other information that I do not already know .

I picked this issue because I think it's going to have a big impact on my life as the years go on. Currently, they talk about legalizing it in other states and one of those states could be mine one day or I could move and it could be legal there. I think it's important for me and other Americans to know about it and how it could affect us later in life. This issue makes me think a lot and that's why I would like to know more about it.

Last week I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

Last week we made a PSA and you told us to "think differently", I think you told us this because during the first week we made a regular presentation and we didn't use animations like we did in the PSA. I think the point of that was to get familiar with some of the software so we know how to use it for the future. If we would have used bullets and headers it wouldn't stand out and that's what a PSA is suppose to do.

Kids these days are getting worse and worse as the years go on. I say this because I started seeing younger kids do things that you see a lot of college kids doing. A lot of them disrespect their parents, which is sad to me because parents do a lot for there kids. I don't think kids these days appreciate that anymore.

Blog Post of the Day:
What is a public service announcement (PSA)? What do PSA's do? What makes a good PSA? How can you get someone to take action after watching a PSA? What is you PSA idea? Explain in detail

A public service announcement is basically a message of some kind, that can be seen in public. PSA's are to inform people about things that are happening in the world. Something that would grab my or any persons attention. For someone to actually take action, they would have really had to be interested and making a difference or doing whatever it takes to fix the problem they are announcing. When I think of a PSA, I think of a poster or video that expresses the good or bad that its doing for the public.

Tell me all about your 3 day weekend. Share photos!

Over the three day weekend, i got to hang out with one of my friends that I haven't seen in awhile. She lives in Blue Springs and graduated high school at semester. Her and her family surprised me and told me I was invited to go on a cruise with them at the end of February, as a graduation present. We are leaving one month from today. I can't wait!!! I also hung out with another friend from Southwest, we went shopping and it was pretty fun. Three day weekends are my favorite!

Blog Post of the Day:

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your life here at BVHS. What activities or clubs are you involved in? What year are you in school? What is your favorite class and/or teacher so far this year? What are you looking forward to this school year? Include some original photos from your phone if you can.

I am a senior at BVHS, I was a football manager last year and half of this year but I had to quit because I got a job. My favorite class is Ceramics, because I liked making cool stuff and giving it to my mom after whatever I made was done. My favorite teacher at BVHS is Mr. Williams, because he's a pretty chill teacher. I am looking forward to having a fun senior year and I CAN'T WAIT to graduate!!

Blog Post of the Day:
What are your thoughts on this class so far? Easy? Hard? Informative? Frustrating? What have you learned so far? What do you want to learn? Explain yourself.

So far I think this class is pretty easy. We haven't done a whole lot to fully judge it. But I think the blog is pretty cool thing to do. I also find that setting up a Google drive was helpful not only in this class but other classes. I wish I would have gotten introduced to it sooner this year. I'm hoping to get more familiar with technology because I don't really know a lot and i think knowing things about computers important.

Blog Post of the Day:
Friday, my friend from Arizona finally came back and I hung out with him.  Saturday,I had a girls night with some friends and played Cards Against Humanity, I hadn't seen them in awhile so it was nice to catch up. We listened to music and had a good time. Sunday, I saw an old friend that I don't see very often because we don't go to the same school. We went to get pizza and then went to the museum because neither of us had been to it. It was a pretty cool museum and I usually don't like museums.

Blog Post of the Day:
Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.
While reading this article, I have come to the conclusion that teenagers are stubborn about everything. I say this because we are always wanting something to do,not just anything though. We are always wanting something FUN to do.. Mowing the lawn, learning how to cook, or reading a book isn't fun. It probably could be fun but teenagers are lazy. We never want to do anything that could be good for us. We do need to start realizing that "having fun"  is not what life is about, yes we should have fun. We should also do something that is worth our time. Teenagers relay on the parents for everything, clothes, money, food. A lot of us are capable of getting a job, so why don't we? In the article it says "you owe the world something." I agree we all owe the world our something. You have probably know idea what you owe, but that's why we need to get out there and find it. We  as teenagers need to step up and do something for ourselves instead of mommy or daddy doing it for us.
